The Kathmandu Durbar Square and old palace:
Located in the hub of Kathmandu city, a few minutes walks from the parking, the old Durbar Square. Steeped with ancient monuments, and masterpiece works of arts and architecture. The palace from Malla to Shah dynasty kingdoms with
temples, and old public meeting place. Beautiful royal courtyard. Includes residence of Living Goddess Kumari, and Kasthamandap, the temple built from a wood of single tree. Where the name of the capital Kathmandu derived from this old temple of Kasthamandap.
The Swyambhunath Stupa:
After Kathmandu Durbar Square a short drive west to Swyambhunath. Located on a hillock, covered in a small forest, also known as the monkey temple.
Where large numbers of Rhesus monkey dwells, Swyambhunath, is the famous landmarks of Kathmandu and Nepal. Of more than 2,500 years old history, the Stupa and the complex, are well preserved and has great work craftsmanship skills. Although Buddhist monuments, all religions enjoy visiting Swyambhunath, which offers grand views of Kathmandu city and the valley.
The Pashupatinath Temple:
From Swyambhunath, drive east of the city to Pashupatinath Temple, the holiest of all Hindu religious sites. Stands on the banks of the Baghmati River, the temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Once a year great religious festival take place, as per the Hindu Lunar calendar called Shiva Ratri. A golden roofed temple with four cardinal silver doors, non-Hindus are not allowed to enter the main temple premises. But can observe the devotees in worships and prayers from the opposite side of the Baghmati River.
The Bouddhanath Stupa:
A short distance drive north from Pashupatinath Temple to Bouddhanath Stupa.
The largest dome shaped Stupa of Nepal and probably in Asia a Buddhist monuments and a holy pilgrimage site. The surrounding area is a hub of Tibetan life, as it is also called ‘Little Tibet’. Due to large number of Tibetan origin people with the same culture to their Tibetan predecessor. Probably a lunch break, at Bouddhanath close to the Stupa in its many international standard and best restaurants.
The Patan Durbar Square:
After an hour or more, tour of Bouddhanath and the Stupa complex, drive heads south to Patan Durbar Square. Located in Lalitpur district, an adjoining city of Kathmandu. The name for Patan is Lalitpur, means city of fine arts, cultures, history and religion. A fabulous city and the Durbar Square to experience, the magnificent intricate carving on temples and palace windows.
Bhaktapur city Durbar Square:
From Patan Durbar Square, after an interesting visit, drive head beyond Patan and Kathmandu city towards east. A drive of less than an hour to reach Bhaktapur city and the Durbar Square.
Bhaktapur Durbar Square, listed as the best among all Royal Courtyards of Nepal, by UNESCO on World Heritage Sites. An amazing city of medieval time period with its ancient cultures and old monuments. Bhaktapur city, is a living museum, the visit leads around its magnificent Durbar Square. Includes the Golden Gate with palace of 55 Windows and the five storied old Nytapola Temple.
Changunarayan Temple:
Enjoying lovely time at Bhaktapur Durbar Square, drive heads up on winding road to Changunarayan Temple. Located in Bhaktapur district, one of the least-visited of all heritage sites around Kathmandu Valley. A beautiful ancient temple of more than 3,000 years old, a two-storied pagoda roofed temple of Lord Vishnu.
Changunarayan Temple is the oldest temple in Nepal and represents a turning point in the country’s architecture and culture. Situated on a high hill, amidst tranquil surrounding of lovely woods of pines, close to interesting old town of Changunarayan.
After a great wonderful experience visiting all the Seven World Heritage Sites Tour of Kathmandu Valley three cities. Our tour concludes with drives back to Kathmandu by late afternoon time on time for refreshment and dinner.
Best Season for Seven World Heritage Day Tour:
Visitors can enjoy the Seven World Heritage Sites tour of Kathmandu and around nearly all seasons of the year. But except for the wet monsoon of summer times.
The right favorable and the best seasons are spring and autumn/fall.
Spring begins in early March and ends in May, where most days are bright with sunshine for longer hours. From early 6:30 am till 5 pm, it can get cloudy afternoon sometimes with chances of light rains.
The next best season is autumn/fall, from September to November, where most days are fine and clear for views and walks. But much colder morning, late afternoon, and nighttime. Cold during the late afternoon, however, a pleasant season of autumn/fall for the Seven World Heritage Day tour. Visitors can also enjoy during the winter time of Christmas and New Year Holidays.
