 Pokhara is a renowned tourist city in Nepal and probably around the globe, located on the lap of the mighty Annapurna Himalayas. Truly a lovely spot amidst a picturesque setting, within a verdant valley surrounded by green hills with beautiful serene lakes.  

Pokhara is a fascinating destination for scenic tours, as well as for various adventures. Where all major treks and mountaineering expeditions start and end at Pokhara. A beautiful city, within the close shadow of the massive Annapurna Mountain range with majestic Machhapuchare Himal, the famous Fish-Tail Peak.
At Pokhara, a visit leads to places of beauty and charm with stunning sunrise views over snow-capped peaks and cascading waterfalls with exciting caves. Includes deep gorge of Seti River, and then relax riding a boat on the calm Phewa Lake. After a marvelous time in Pokhara, the journey extends south to the famous Chitwan. To enjoy, the exciting thrills of Jungle and wildlife safari in the dense green tropical jungles of Chitwan National Park. Regarded as Asia’s best park for nature activities with exotic flora and fauna, it’s home to rare and endangered mammals. Like the rare and elusive Royal Bengal Tiger, Rhinoceros includes 43 different types of animals. As well as includes more than 400 species of birds with migratory birds, jungle fowls, and peacocks. 

The exciting country of Chitwan is located mid-south of Nepal, around the lower warmer belt of Terai. Chitwan National Park is on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites due to its exotic species of flora and fauna.

BEST SEASONS FOR KATHMANDU-POKHARA AND CHITWAN TOUR:

For the Kathmandu-Pokhara and Chitwan Tour, visitors can enjoy all seasons of the year. Except for the wet monsoon times of the summer season. The best seasons are spring with autumn/fall, as well as winter times.  Spring begins in early March and ends in May, where most days are bright with sunshine for longer hours. From early 5:30 am till 5:30 pm, it can get cloudy afternoon sometimes with chances of light rains. 
The next best season is autumn/fall, from September to November, most days are clear for views and pleasant tours. Colder morning, late afternoon, and nighttime. A pleasant season of autumn/fall times for the Kathmandu-Pokhara and Chitwan Tour. Wintertime is also the best time for this wonderful tour, most days are crystal clear for views and tours. 
It is an enjoyable time, but cold morning, late afternoon, and nighttime, the days are short with limited sunlight hours.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Tour of Kathmandu heritage sites of great interest.

Tour of Kathmandu Heritage sites begins in the morning by 8 a.m. and not later than 9 a.m. Treklanders Adventures city guide takes you to impressive places around Nepal’s best landmarks from old Durbar Square. The former palace and royal courtyard of Malla to the Shah Dynasty includes the famous Swyambhunath Stupa. History of more than 2,500 years old, a Buddhist pilgrimage site stands on a hill, atop Kathmandu city. The tour then extends to Hindu Temple of Pashupatinath revered as the holiest of all holy temples for Hindus. 

The tour continues to the exciting and magnificent location of Bouddhanath, which houses a huge dome Stupa. The monuments of three tiers with the mystical eyes of Buddha on the four cardinal sides. An interesting Buddhist complex surrounded by beautiful monasteries and circular colorful markets. A great place to observe the impressive cultures and customs similar to the Tibetan heritage.

After a wonderful tour visit most of the world heritage sites within the city limit, then back to the hotel.

Day 2 : Tour of Patan and Bhaktapur Durbar Squares.

The morning after breakfast, our city guide receives another exciting tour of the Kathmandu city. To enjoy visiting the artistic and cultural sites of Patan/ Lalitpur city old Durbar Square. Famous monuments of Malla King's palace and royal courtyard and the magnificent Krishna Temple. An interesting tour amidst the busy colorful markets and yet peaceful within Durbar Square.

From Patan, the drive leads east of Patan city to Bhaktapur, a city of the medieval time era. Bhaktapur Durbar Square is listed as the best among all Royal Courtyards of Nepal, by UNESCO on World Heritage Sites. An amazing city with ancient cultures and old monuments. Bhaktapur city is a living museum, the visit leads around its magnificent Durbar Square. Includes the Golden Gate with the palace of 55 Windows and the five storied old Nytapola Temple.

After a great exciting day, completing the tour of Patan and Bhaktapur cities an hourless drive back to Kathmandu.


Day 3 : From Kathmandu drive to Pokhara 860m-06 hrs.

Morning an exciting and interesting drive towards a beautiful and scenic city to Pokhara. The drive heads south and then follows the main highway to NepalMid-West, where Pokhara is located. On the journey views of lovely landscapes filled with farm terraces and villages, with views of snow peaks.

After an exciting overland journey reaching Pokhara, by the serene Phewa Lake, where all the best hotels are situated. Rest of the afternoon explore the Lakeside lined with fancy restaurants, shops, and stores with views of Annapurna Himalayas.

Day 4 : Tour of Pokhara natural wonders with Sarankot sunrise.

Rising early morning before breakfast, a short drive to Sarankot located on a hilltop at 1,460 m. A famous and popular place for spectacular views of sunrise with

a panorama of the world's three highest peaks. Facing Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Manaslu Himalayan range with majestic Machhapuchare the famous Fish-Tail Peak. Includes wide panorama of Pokhara Valley and city surrounded by tiers of

rolling green hills. Sarankot is also a popular spot for various adventure sports, the most famous are Paragliding and Zip Line. 

After a refreshing morning great views of sunrise and snow-capped mountain range, then back to the hotel. After breakfast leisure time then continue the tour of Pokhara’s natural wonderful sites. A short drive to Devi’s Water Fall / Patale Chhago (Hell’s Fall). An impressive cascading waterfall. From here a short distance walk to a large Gupteswor Cave. The tour leads towards the main local market area at Brindabhasini Temple. A lovely area for views of the Annapurna Himalayan range, and observing the locals with religious rituals and prayers. 

Tour of Seti River deep gorge and visit the International Mountaineering Museum, information, and history of the Himalayas. After a great exciting day, back to the hotel at leisure for individual activities, or enjoy boating at Phewa Lake. 



Day 5 : Drive to Chitwan National Park area at Sauraha Town 415m-05 hrs.

The morning starts with an exciting drive to the lowland of Chitwan. Located in Nepal mid-south around the sub-tropical climate of the Terai belt, the drive follows the Trisuli River for hours. Then reaching around the town of Chitwan, from the main highway the drive diverts heading further south. Reaching close to the Chitwan National Park entrance at Sauraha town, where all the best hotels and lodges are located.

On arrival, the hotel manager and naturalist welcome and brief you on the programs and jungle activities. Then check into your lovely rooms, afternoon having lunch, the guide will take you for a short nature walk. As well as visiting the local Tharu people, the main tribes of Chitwan and Terai region. Then back to the hotel for dinner in a nice large dining room.

Day 6 : At Chitwan for nature and jungle activities with elephant safari.

The program and jungle activities start early morning before breakfast, as you join with other groups. The morning activities are either bird watching, nature walks, or elephant safari for a few hours. Then back to the lodge for breakfast, and before lunch another program either a canoe ride on Rapti River. As well as briefing on elephants with elephant bathing, interested people can join in.

The jungle and nature activities are as follows:

Nature or Bird Watching Tour, as well as Machan / Observation Tower visit.

Elephant safari for a few hours within Chitwan National Park's dense jungles. 

The dugout canoe on Rapti River to observe the river birds, Marsh Mugger, and freshwater Gangetic Crocodiles. Mid-afternoon lunch with time to relax, and then by 3 p.m. Jungle activities either elephant safari (if not enjoyed in the morning), or jungle walks, jungle drive. Visit of local Tharu village and tour of Tharu museum.

Evening either slide show of Chitwan National Park or Tharu Cultural program before a lavish buffet dinner.

Day 7 : Morning optional nature activities and drive to Kathmandu-05 hrs.

Rising early morning by 6 am for optional activities either elephant safari, bird watching, or nature walks. Then back to the hotel for breakfast, and bid farewell to the hotel staff and guide. From the hotel transfer to the vehicle for an interesting drive to Kathmandu. The drive follows the same route, taking more than 5 hours, depending on traffic. After an exciting overland journey reaching back to your hotel, after a wonderful experience around Pokhara and Chitwan Wildlife Safari.
